Senior Engineer, Kubernetes and Tanzu

Company presents multiple, unique opportunities for a full-time Senior Engineer to join a team responsible for kubernetes and container infrastructure. The Senior Engineer will drive enablement and adoption to migrate high performant and critical applications to into a microservices model utilizing container technologies by working closely with our development and engineering teams. This individual works as part of a results-oriented, service-delivery team and assists developers, configuration analysts, release engineers, developers, and operations teams. Additionally, the Senior Engineer performs root cause analysis of problems, selects and implements automation tools, and actively participates in deeply technical discourse.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Design, build, support, and maintain kubernetes and Tanzu infrastructure
• Assist in the design, planning and implementation of container infrastructure solutions, including Tanzu and Kubernetes.
• Tune systems for maximum available performance
• Provide technical analysis, resolve problems, and propose solutions
• Provide support to, and coordinate with, developers, operations staff, release engineers, and end-users
• Educate and mentor team members and operations staff
• Participate in a weekly on-call rotation for after-hours support
• Respond to and assist in production operations in a 24/7 environment

Requirements

• Degree in engineering discipline or equivalent experience in Systems Engineering
• 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes
• Horizontal and vertical scaling for performance and high availability
• Top-tier analytics and problem solving
• Ability to work in a service-oriented team environment
• Project Management, organization, and time management
• Customer focused, and dedicated to the best possible user experience
• Communicate effectively with both technical and business resources

Desired

• Experience with Tanzu and TKGI a plus
• 2+ years of experience with docker and/or podman
• Build automation and configuration management
• Advanced scripting (any combination of Python, Java, Golang, Bash Powershell, and others)
• Experience with Amazon EKS a plus
• Experience with Puppet, Chef, or Ansible a plus
• Experience with VMWare vSphere and ESXi a plus
• Experience with NSX and software defined networks a plus
